Ryokan (upscale)

Kawasegien Isuzu Hotel’s defining feature is the two-tier model. Guests book into the main Isuzu building for a traditional mid-upscale ryokan experience, or into the Kawasegien annex for a premium upgrade with private cypress bathtubs in the room. Both groups of guests share the common baths and the dining hall, but the room experience diverges considerably between the two wings - which makes this a useful option when a couple wants upscale without paying Sekiyo or Hakuunsou pricing.

The building sits over the upper Chitose River, and three of the common baths are on the fifth floor with views across the valley toward the mountains. These private baths operate on a reservation system and are available to both wings of guests. The main public baths run on the alternating-gender schedule that is standard for ryokan of this scale.

Dining is seasonal kaiseki, served either in the main dining hall or in private Kaganotei rooms depending on the plan. Kawasegien-annex guests typically take meals in the private rooms as part of the premium package. Breakfast is Japanese-set.

Access is a free shuttle from Yugawara Station. Parking on-site. The inn is on major Japanese booking platforms (Jalan, Rurubu, Kashikiri-onsen, Agoda) and has English support at the front desk because of the international presence.
