Genkan Terrace is the cafe half of the Yugawara Sōyu complex - a town-tourism-operated wellness facility that includes a foot bath, a restaurant, and an upstairs co-working floor. The cafe is the front door. The terrace overlooks Man’yō Park’s upper stream, and the interior trades the usual cafe clutter for a library-and-forest palette.
The food programme is more developed than it looks from outside: seasonal citrus drinks (the town’s mandarin harvest runs deep into the menu - cream sodas, sparkle jelly, hot mandarin juice), shirasu pizza and sandwiches for a proper lunch, and morning-baked muffins and scones. Cards, e-money, and QR codes are accepted. The co-working floor upstairs is also here - bookable by the hour for meetings, desk space that reads as a proper workroom. Hours are 10:00 to 17:30. Closed the second Tuesday of each month.
Access is a bus ride or taxi from the station - not walkable from the onsen district, and specifically not something to combine with a late-night plan. Day trips and mid-trip work sessions are the right fit. Phone is 0465-43-7830.
