Onsen and work: a day in Yugawara
The reason to work from an onsen town is the bath at the end of the day. Here's how to fit Yugawara's day baths around work, with hours and prices.
Morning
Miyakami no Yu opens at 7:00, so you can bathe before the working day starts. It's about 15 minutes' walk from the station, with a mud-pack steam sauna and private baths. Then take the bus up to Genkan Terrace in Man'yō Park, which opens at 10:00 with free desks and wifi.

- 7:00–21:00, last entry 20:30. Open daily apart from a few maintenance days.
Afternoon
Kogome no Yu, the town's own day bath, is a short walk from Genkan Terrace through the park. It's ¥1,100, and after 19:00 it's ¥600, so the cheapest bath in town is the one after work. It's closed on Mondays.
For a slower afternoon, Soyu Terrace's no-meal plan gives you three hours of baths, a library and lounges from 14:00 for ¥3,500, and ¥500 less if you're staying in Yugawara. Book online.
- Kogome no Yu
- 9:00–21:00, last entry 20:30. ¥1,100, or ¥600 after 19:00. Closed Mondays.
- Soyu Terrace
- 10:00–18:30, last entry 16:30. Closed the 1st and 3rd Wednesdays and the 2nd Tuesday.
Evening
Back by the station, Hotel Shiroyama takes day bathers until 22:30, two minutes from the platform, for a late soak after a day in Tokyo. For the week's food, Odawara Department Store is about 200 metres from the station and open 9:00–20:00, and Maxvalu, open until 22:00, is about 900 metres away.
