A small bouldering gym in Miyakami, good for beginners and regulars alike: ¥1,000 for an hour, ¥2,000 for the day, and the staff show first-timers how it works.

About SEA ROCK climbing gym
SEA ROCK opened in 2018 and is Yugawara's indoor bouldering wall: short problems over thick mats, reset regularly, with a friendly crowd of locals. If you've never climbed, book the one-hour taster and the staff will walk you through the basics and the rules.
It's also the fallback when rain or cold keeps you off the boulders at Makuyama Park, the town's outdoor bouldering area.
Take the Oku-Yugawara or Fudō Falls bus to Miyakami (about 5 minutes). Walk down the lane opposite the stop and turn right at the end.
