Day bath · Yoshihama hills
A big rock-garden day bath among the mandarin orchards above Yoshihama, with a 4-metre waterfall bath, a cave bath and a sauna. Open till 21:00, 22:00 at weekends.

Yutoro is a big rock-garden day bath, the one to choose if you want to spend a few hours moving between pools. It sits on a quiet hill above Yoshihama, surrounded by mandarin orchards, well away from the onsen district.
There are two bath areas, and men and women swap between them each day. Sasahana no Yu has a 4-metre waterfall of spring water pouring into a two-level river bath, a bubble bath and a Finnish sauna. Kochō no Yu has a steamy cave bath, a hot-water shower bath and an indoor hinoki tub. The spring is a clear, weakly alkaline water at 45°C, and there's a drinking fountain for it too.
There's a free rest area with tatami and sofas, massage chairs and vending machines with beer. Two private baths with big windows onto the trees can be booked for two hours. Guests with tattoos can't use the baths.
From Yugawara Station, take the town's community bus towards Manazuru to Yūyū no Sato (about 7 minutes, ¥210). The bath is a minute's walk from the stop. There's free parking for 30 cars.
