Yugawara, Kanagawa
Campsite · hills above the town
A grassy hillside campsite with views over the valley and its own hot spring, run by a family that owns three springs. Pets welcome, big dogs included.

Kamiya is the place to pitch a tent in Yugawara. The campsite sits high on the hillside with views across the valley, and it's run by Kamiya Onsen, which owns three hot springs, so you can bathe in Yugawara spring water without leaving camp.
There are grass pitches, sites you can drive onto, and group sites, plus a shared kitchen and firewood at ¥500 a bundle (or gather your own around the grounds for free). Pets are welcome, including big dogs. The upper sites, from D up, open only on request because the track is rough.
Check in between 13:00 and 16:30, and call if you'll be later. It's about ten minutes by car from Yugawara Station. Staff are away on Mondays for maintenance, so messages sent then are answered on Tuesday.
