Book the stay first
Reserve two nights at Sansuirou and confirm that breakfast and dinner are included on both days. Room type, rates, and meal arrangements vary by plan.
Treat 30 minutes as the ceiling
Two Saturday legs use the full limit. Both involve hills. Replace either with bus or taxi in rain, heat, poor footing, limited mobility, or fatigue.
Check Saturday closures
Kogome no Yu normally closes Monday. The museum and café normally close Wednesday, but monthly work days and temporary closures can affect other dates. Recheck before departure.
Allow for costs beyond the ryokan
Current standard adult admission is ¥1,100 at Kogome no Yu and ¥600 for the museum galleries. Café orders, rail, bus, and taxi costs are additional.
Leave the ryokan at 10:00
Pack everything before checkout. Sunday proceeds from Sansuirou to the station area, then SAGYO, then Yugawara Station with no backtracking.
