Hike · 13.2 km loop from the station
A loop from the station over Mt Shiroyama, past an 800-year-old juniper, legendary rocks, castle ruins and Shitodo Cave, back down to Gosho Shrine.

The Shiroyama trail starts ten minutes from the station at Joganji, the temple of the Doi clan, where a 20-metre juniper, around 800 years old, twists up by the gate. From there it climbs past Tateishi, a rock Yoritomo is said to have thrown to tell his fortune, and Kabutoishi, where he rested his helmet.
The summit holds the remains of Doi Castle and a wide view down to Sagami Bay. A side trail leads to Shitodo Cave, then the path comes back over the top and down to Gosho Shrine and the station. Allow about four hours of walking, and wear proper shoes: the section beyond the summit is steep.
